A Texarkana man already charged with capital murder is now facing a new charge after an alleged assault inside the Bowie County jail.
Authorities say 28-year-old Keshawn Wickware is accused of grabbing a female correctional officer while handcuffed earlier this month. He now faces a charge of assault on a peace officer, which carries a possible two to ten year sentence.
Wickware has been in custody since his arrest in the March 2025 shooting death of a clerk at a Maud Family Dollar store.
A judge has now scheduled his capital murder trial for November.
Wickware remains jailed on bonds totaling more than 1.7 million dollars.
