A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper has been suspended following a DWI arrest after a crash in Cass County.

A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper has been suspended following a DWI arrest after a crash in Cass County.

DPS says 43-year-old Trooper Decori Charles Birmingham was off duty and driving his personal vehicle when a two-vehicle wreck occurred at the intersection of Highways 8 and 77 on December 13. He was arrested, booked into the Cass County jail, and suspended the next day.

DPS says an internal investigation is now underway.
