Texas Governor Greg Abbott has rolled out a massive new transportation plan — a 10-year, $146 billion investment.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has rolled out a massive new transportation plan — a 10-year, $146 billion investment. The Texas Department of Transportation says the plan focuses on improving local roads and tackling traffic congestion across the state. Right here in the Texarkana area, that means $7.7 million to widen U.S. 82 in western Bowie County, $16.3 million for new frontage roads along I-30 near Spur 86, and $14.6 million to widen Kings Highway from I-30 to U.S. 82. Big improvements are on the way for drivers in our region.
