Hospice of Texarkana is encouraging community support during East Texas Giving Day on Tuesday, April 28, with donations matched dollar-for-dollar up to $10,000 by an anonymous donor.
The one-day online fundraising event runs from 6 a.m. to midnight, though early giving is already underway and donations made now will still count toward the event and qualify for the matching funds.
Hospice of Texarkana hopes to raise $25,000, matching last year’s total, with funds supporting staff education and underfunded patient care.
Executive Director Cindy Marsh says community support is critical to help secure the full donor match and continue providing compassionate care services.
East Texas Giving Day, sponsored by the East Texas Community Foundation, supports nonprofits across 32 counties in the region.
Hospice of Texarkana, a nonprofit serving northeast Texas and southwest Arkansas, says community donations help make it possible to provide comfort care and bereavement services to patients and families regardless of ability to pay.
