A Bowie County man is facing an intoxication assault charge after a three-car crash earlier this month.
According to a probable cause affidavit, 50-year-old Michael Jomond Stinson allegedly failed to yield while turning from a parking lot into the 4400 block of South Lake Drive on February 8. His vehicle struck another car carrying two adults and a 9-year-old girl, injuring all three. A third vehicle was also involved, but those occupants were not hurt.
Troopers say Stinson showed signs of intoxication and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. He was taken to a hospital for a blood draw and later released on a $100,000 bond.
If convicted, Stinson faces two to ten years in prison. The case is assigned to 202nd District Judge John Tidwell.
