A new scam is making the rounds, this time with fake text messages claiming your driver’s license or vehicle registration will be suspended unless you pay a fine immediately.

A new scam is making the rounds, this time with fake text messages claiming your driver’s license or vehicle registration will be suspended unless you pay a fine immediately.

Officials say it’s completely fake. Do not click any links or send money. No legitimate agency will ever contact you this way or threaten suspension by text.

Just weeks ago, scammers were sending out fake toll road fee notices. Now, they’re using fear to trick people into paying up.

Warn your friends and family—these scammers are counting on panic to get what they want. Stay alert and don’t fall for it.
