The Arkansas Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting on August 7 to discuss the first phase of a major rehab project. ARDOT and TXDOT plan to repave the 2.5-mile stretch between 7th Street and Arkansas Boulevard starting in 2028.
The work will include new sidewalks, driveway reconstruction, drainage upgrades, and better traffic signals.
A future phase may add a roundabout at Arkansas and Texas Boulevards, but that’s not part of the current plan.
ARDOT is also looking to widen a four-mile section of I-30 from the Texas state line to I-49. That project could begin next year.
The public meeting is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Beech Street First Baptist Church.
