The City of Texarkana, Texas, is celebrating the first homes completed through its HOME program, which helps rebuild aging houses for low-income residents.

Five families have already moved into their new homes, including Florence McCoun, who says she’s thankful and thrilled with her new place in the Beverly Community.
City Project Manager Matt Solomon says more homes are being demolished and new applications are under review, with about $1.5 million invested so far.

Interested applicants can find out more at texarkanatexas.gov. The deadline to apply is December 5.
