Governor Greg Abbott has announced that Texarkana is now officially a Film Friendly Texas Certified Community.

Governor Greg Abbott has announced that Texarkana is now officially a Film Friendly Texas Certified Community. After completing a multi-step training process, the city joins over 200 Texas communities ready to welcome film and media productions.

The certification, granted by the Texas Film Commission, helps connect local businesses with production crews, creating jobs and boosting local economies.

Local leaders, including Representative Gary VanDeaver and Mayor Bob Bruggeman, say the designation highlights Texarkana’s unique charm and potential for growth through creative storytelling and industry collaboration.
