Texarkana police say a man helped plan the theft and destruction of his own truck and camper in an insurance scheme.
According to investigators, Cameron Flores, along with Kenneth Shavers and Niklas Burkland, is charged with organized criminal activity after Flores reported his Ford F-250 and Puma camper stolen in late October.
Detectives say surveillance video, license-plate cameras, and evidence found on Shavers family property tied all three men to the theft. The truck was later found dumped with signs of attempted arson, and the camper was discovered burned in Oklahoma.
Police say deleted messages and a cooperating witness revealed Flores had arranged for the vehicles to be taken for an insurance payout. All three suspects face up to 20 years in prison.
