A Texarkana man faces serious charges after a traffic stop in Ashdown last month.
Authorities say 40-year-old Jeffery Scott Russett was pulled over by an Arkansas State Trooper on February 27 while driving with a suspended license. The trooper reportedly smelled marijuana and discovered about 15 pounds of marijuana and seven firearms inside the SUV, some of them loaded.
Investigators say Russett told the trooper he planned to deliver the marijuana to someone at the Ashdown Motel. He is currently free on a 25-thousand-dollar bond and is scheduled to return to court next week.
