Ashdown police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Tuesday morning at a home on Brodie Lane.

Officers responded to a reported shooting around 6:25 a.m. and found a man dead at the scene. Authorities say a suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the incident.

Police have not released the names of the victim or suspect, and no charges had been announced as of Tuesday morning.

Ashdown Police Chief Boyd Kennemore says the investigation remains ongoing, but there is no threat to public safety.
