A six-month investigation into contraband smuggling at the Miller County Detention Center has resulted in multiple arrest warrants. Sheriff Wayne Easley says the probe began in January after allegations surfaced that staff were bringing prohibited items into the jail. The 8th South Drug Task Force assisted in the investigation.
On July 21, warrants were issued for seven people, including former detention center employee Treveon Cleveland, along with Delmarqueon Lockett, Roscoe Hamilton, Gary Brown, Joshua Rigsby, Tawakkia Wrightner, and Kayla Gale. Charges range from Continuing Criminal Enterprise to Furnishing Prohibited Articles and Use of a Communication Device.
Cleveland and Wrightner remain at large. Easley says the investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are possible.
