Police Warn Public About Warrant Scam

Texarkana, Texas Police are once again warning the public about scammers posing as law enforcement or court officials.

The scammers may call and claim you have an outstanding warrant, demanding immediate payment to avoid arrest. Officials say to hang up.

Law enforcement agencies will not demand payment over the phone, especially through gift cards, cryptocurrency, or other unusual methods.

Authorities encourage residents to talk with family members, especially older adults, about these scams. If you receive one of these calls, hang up, do not call the number back, and never send money.
