A Texarkana man remains in custody after being accused of seriously injuring his girlfriend's infant daughter.
According to Texarkana, Texas police, 22-year-old Michael Cridell Jr. is charged with Injury to a Child Causing Serious Bodily Injury. He is being held in the Bi-State Jail on a $500,000 bond.
The investigation began Thursday when officers were called to CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital after a woman brought her 3-month-old daughter in with a critical head injury. Doctors determined the infant had suffered a skull fracture and she was airlifted to Arkansas Children's Hospital for treatment.
Police said the child is currently in serious but stable condition. Investigators determined Cridell was the sole caretaker of the child during the time the injury is believed to have occurred.
