Texarkana will serve as Arkansas' "Capital for a Day" on Wednesday, July 15, under a proclamation issued by Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
The governor's program brings senior state officials to communities across Arkansas to meet with local leaders and highlight the city's history, culture, and economic importance. Sanders, who spent part of her childhood in Texarkana, noted the city's unique location on the Arkansas-Texas border, its military and aviation heritage, and landmarks such as the U.S. Post Office and Courthouse.
Texarkana becomes the 19th city to be named Arkansas' "Capital for a Day" during the Sanders administration.
