Texarkana Water Utilities is preparing to launch a new online portal to help customers track water usage and identify potential leaks.

The new system, called My TXK Water, is expected to roll out in phases beginning in early November.

Customers will be able to monitor water consumption by the hour, day, week or month, and receive alerts about unusual or continuous water use that could signal a leak.

Before the rollout, customers are encouraged to make sure their email addresses and phone numbers on file with Water Utilities are up to date.

Customers will receive an email invitation when it's time to activate their accounts.
